Find therapy for students at: therapyforstudents.co.uk
--- but it can be tough to face the stresses of making new connections, and meeting demanding academic workloads. Financial pressures and being away from home can also diminish your mental health. BetterTalk's solution-focused therapy for students offers both psychological support and, if you want it, coursework-related coaching.
A 2023 TAB/CALM study* of 4,000 UK university students found that most had some mental health issues. Your university will offer you free mental health support. But over half of the students surveyed didn't want to share their concerns with their university, while 65% who had were not happy with the help they received.
You may not yet have tried your university support services, you may not want to, or perhaps you have, but want additional help. And being on a budget, you're hoping to find cheap therapy. The BetterTalk's affordable therapy team includes therapists who have also worked as university lecturers, giving us the skills to understand and really support students.
And if it's academic coaching you want, your BetterTalk coach will be an experienced lecturer, not a newly-recruited graduate!
Conversations with us are one-to-one, and confidential. Because we understand that students aren't made of money, we offer amazing discounts on our normal rates. Sessions cost as little as £25 (see below), bookable at times convenient for you, including evenings and weekends.
